If We Contacted You

If you are selected for the 2026 NYCHVS, you may receive a letter, phone call or home visit from a NYCHVS interviewer who will identify themselves and explain the survey. A trained interviewer from the SRC at the University of Michigan will work with you to schedule an in-person interview.
The NYCHVS speaks your language. We can conduct your interview in any language you wish.
If you need additional support to complete an interview, we are here to help. We can provide reasonable accommodations at your request.

Time Commitment: Interviews usually take 30–45 minutes.

Why Your Participation Matters
We need to hear from you to understand New Yorkers’ challenges. Your answers to the survey represent hundreds of other New Yorkers like you. Together with information from others in your community, your contribution helps shape fairer housing policies, support better programs, and build a more equitable city for all New Yorkers. Only people selected specifically can participate.
